Structuring, Categorization and Analysis Functions
Categorization
This functionality lets you thematically sort and structure heterogeneous, chaotic data collections like those found in many corporate intranets and on the Internet. A thematically organized catalog is generated that slots documents into appropriate categories based on content-related criteria. This process integrates various categorization approaches (automatic, rule-based or spontaneous), which you can use either individually or in combination to ensure reliable classification, depending on the task at hand.
Trend Analysis
Here the aim is two-fold. On the one hand, it is about discovering trends in a collection of documents on a specified topic. Analysis is performed to detect the appearance of new concepts crystallize out, anomalies with signal character, or the sudden occurrence of familiar themes in unusual contexts. On the other, this approach can also be applied to a collection of unknown documents for ferreting out new topics and identifying potential trends.
Tonality Analysis
Linguistic and statistical methods are applied to analyze the tonality with which certain topics, events, persons or products are reported on (tending to positive, tending to negative, neutral). This reveals opinion and mood trends that can be mapped onto a time axis for visualization.
Visualization
The results of analysis are visualized by depicting them in a variety of ways. The possible graphical solutions range widely, from classical diagrams and histograms across tag clouds to innovative contextualizations.
Information Process Services
Process-based provision of located information.
